I enjoyed a group booking for 30 cyclists. The accommodation was good, either rooms in .the main lodge, Toller house, or the cabins. Three meals a day were included, good breakfasts, bag lunches and great dinners. The cook really worked hard to please everyone. Being on the PPJ bike route was ideal for cycling from the lodge, or more remote starts on the Allumettires or Grand Calumet Islands were also great. Swimming at a nearby beach was a great addition as was the hot tub at the lodge. Thanks to the owner Ann Toller for the quality of all the services

We were a group of 8 at the restaurant. General consensus if the food was okay. My smoked ribs were good. Reports on the burgers, was that they were all burnt on one side. Chicken was reported as dried out. The garden salad was great. Service was on the slower/casual pace. Our bill has 4 extra dishes added to it, but were easily and quickly corrected. I'd give it a second shot.

It was a challenge to even book a room here. They don't answer the phone or return phone calls easily. Specifics of the rooms were not discovered until we managed to check in (which took a long time because there were no employees to be found and we had to call the owner who then had to call the employees to get them to check us in). Anytime we went to the main building looking for staff (like to check out the next day) there was nobody to be found. Food was ok often lukewarm... service was alright... The cake they served was awful. It tasted like a box mix and they let a small child decide how much sugar to put in the icing. The beds are exceptionally comfy and we were thankful for the air conditioning in our room.

Located several hours from Ottawa. While the house itself has historical significance, the Toller house is quite minimal and modern. The Toller is accessible, the beds are high but comfortable. It has a nightstand, hangars and luggage rack and that's all the furniture. There is a shower stall but the washroom doors may not lock. The actual building is different. For appearance, it is a hot-spot of century old furniture and decorations. The staff are friendly. Overall, it is a good hotel for its price.

My grandmother grew up in this town, so we decided to spend the night here on our road trip. Nice historic facility. The owner, Jane, was friendly and helpful regarding knowledge of the town and where some distant kin are buried. Would recommend this place.
